Restore Your Smile with Dental Restorations

Dr. Cheryl Pearson offers custom designed, state-of-the-art dental restorations at her Atlanta, GA, practice that blend and fit beautifully with any smile. Whether you need to replace one tooth or several, Pearson Dentistry has an option that will provide both functionality and aesthetics.

Who Needs Dental Restorations?

If you have lost one or more teeth due to decay, gum disease, or trauma to your mouth, a restoration to replace your tooth or teeth will restore functionality. A dental crown can cover a decayed or damaged single tooth, acting as a ceramic cap. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth with prosthetic teeth, supported on either side by crowns.

Dentures can be placed in segments to replace a few teeth, and full dentures replace all of the teeth on the upper or lower arch, or both. Dr. Pearson has years of experience placing dental restorations and will provide you with a detailed treatment plan. She will explain her recommendations and answer all of your questions, so you are able to make an educated decision about the future of your oral health.

High Quality Materials

While many dentists use traditional materials such as metal or porcelain for their restorations, Dr. Pearson goes above and beyond to provide the highest quality, state-of-the-art materials. She uses zirconia, PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), and other newly developed polymers.

Since Prettau® restorations are created from one piece of zirconia, rather than layers of ceramic, they are less abrasive and much more resistant to chipping.

One of the newest materials she uses for crowns and bridges is Prettau® Zirconia, a non-porous, biocompatible material that is highly translucent, blending in perfectly with your other teeth. Since these restorations are created from one piece of zirconia, rather than layers of ceramic, they are less abrasive and much more resistant to chipping.

The Restoration Process

Your initial consultation is the first step in the restoration process. During this appointment, Dr. Pearson will perform a thorough dental exam, to make sure there are no other dental issues. For a crown or bridge, she will prepare the neighboring teeth by shaping them to fit under the crowns. She will then take impressions of the area being restored, which will be used to create a mockup of the restoration for you to wear for one or two months.

This allows Dr. Pearson to be able to make adjustments, to find the perfect fit. When the correct fit and form have been accomplished, the mockup will be scanned and sent to our partner laboratory, where the permanent restoration will be fabricated. Once the final restoration is received in our office, Dr. Pearson will permanently place it, leaving you with a fully restored, attractive smile.

Comfort and Confidence

Restorations placed by Dr. Cheryl Pearson offer the highest level of comfort. The materials she uses are less abrasive than ceramic, so they will not irritate your teeth or gums. The restorations will boost your confidence, due to their natural-looking appearance and sparkle.

Dr. Pearson strives to make your procedure as comfortable as possible, employing gentle techniques and administering sedation, when necessary, to help make you feel more at ease. With your new dental restoration, you will be able to smile confidently, with no missing teeth to worry about.
